Common And Unusual Pregnancy Symptoms

by admin June 11th, 2009

Pregnancy symptoms are not something that a woman will like to have as they can be dreadful. Certain women might have unpleasant symptoms but others could have pretty mild ones. The lucky few will simply have no such complaint. For a pregnant woman, it is necessary to know about the difference types of symptoms so as to tell if they are common or unusual ones. Then you would be able to check with a doctor if they are unusual.

First you will like to understand what the common pregnancy symptoms are so that you can manage it as they come. Each pregnancy is different so the experience will be different for every time you conceive. Reading about it is just the beginning but when you are the one conceiving, you will have to bear it by yourself. Through recognizing the common pregnancy symptoms, you can then prepare well ahead to control the stress better. For more precise information, you can consult your physician.

On the other hand, unusual pregnancy is something that causes awful pain or intense discomfort that can adversely affect your day-to-day existence. The symptoms are something that make you take leave from work for a few days so ensures that you discuss with your physician as soon as possible. Women are typically intuitive and can tell if they have unusual symptoms and always exercise the greatest care if you have misgivings as the physician is only a call away.

Morning sickness is one of the most prevalent pregnancy symptoms that will afflict most of the women who are conceiving but there are few lucky ones who will never contract it. Morning sickness usually occurs in the first semester but alas for some, it will last throughout the whole pregnancy. The name might imply it occurs in the morning but the fact is that it can occur throughout the whole day.

Another prevailing sign is backaches and it can occur early during the pregnancy or most possibly in the third semester. Majority of them will get backaches as they are due to rising hormone level in your body. If they are serious, then it is time to seek the advice of a physician to find some kind of cure.

The other common pregnancy symptom if the crave for food that can set you off hankering for food that you thought you have never enjoyed them before. The carving can last all the way through the whole pregnancy and usually pregnant women will prefer sour food such as pickles on top of other like ice cream.

Aside from common signs, there are other unusual symptoms that can send chill down the spine. It makes for nervous reading but you have to research on them to plan well in advance. When you are down with such symptoms, the first thing you do is to call the doctor as unusual signs of pregnancy can result in miscarriage if you choose to ignore them.

Whatever pregnancy symptoms you require to endure, be it common or unusual ones always be prepared for them so that you will not be overwhelmed when the occasions crop up. Pregnancy is a pleasure and if it is devoid of any symptoms, then you are just blessed but seeing it all the way through to deliver your bundle of joy is the ultimate bliss.

Does the age of consent affect the rates of teenage pregnancy rates?

by admin July 3rd, 2009

The U.K has one of the highest rates of unmarried teenage pregnancy rates in Europe, it also has one of the highest rates of terminated/aborted pregnacies. On top of which, it has one of the highest ages of consent. I am not saying it is the only reason for teenage pregnancies, but curious to see if others think it may be a significant factor - in that it may shape sex education in schools etc.
The Netherlands has one of the youngest ages of consent, and also has the lowest teenage pregnancy rate and abortion rate in Europe.

No. The difference between here and the Netherlands is their approach to talking about sex in society and sex education in schools. It is near impossible for those not working in sexual health to believe just how backward parent’s views on sex education in schools in this country are.

How to become pregnant after an ectopic pregnancy?

by admin July 3rd, 2009

Someone close to me recently had an ectopic pregnancy and, as a result, lost her right fallopian tube. What are her options if she wants to become pregnant in the near future? She is confident that she can just stick with in vitro fertilization; however, I read that in virto has only a 30% success factor. Any advice??

If she only lost one tube she can still get pregnant on her own. It’s random which side her egg comes from each month. I lost one tube and still got pregnant after 4 months of trying…. and normally there is only a 25% chance each month anyway. Tell her don’t lose hope! You can still do it on your own most likely.

How long does the pregnancy hormone last in a woman after giving birth?

by admin July 3rd, 2009

I gave birth in August and just yesterday I took a home pregnancy test and it came back positive. Is it picking up my last pregnancy?

most likely not, you are pregnant. The levels of pregnancy hormones leave your body right after giving birth, it takes a total of 6 weeks. If you are breast feeding the chances are still low, the hormones needed to maintain a pregnancy and create milk are separate. To be super sure get a blood pregnancy test, getting pregnant right after having a baby is close to a sure thing….good luck

Is it common to get a negative pregnancy test at 11 days past ovulation?

by admin July 3rd, 2009

I decided to take a pregnancy test today, 11 days past ovulation, but it was negative. I’ve been having a few symptoms but it could be just normal stuff. Is 11 days past ovulation too soon to do a pregnancy test?

I keep reading that implantation takes place between 6 and 12 days past ovulation. If this is the case, will I not get a positive pregnancy test until after implantation takes place?

yes it is very common to get a (-) result after 11 days after ovulation. Yes, you will not get a (+) result if the egg is not yet implanted in your uterus. i suggest, you take a pregnancy test after a feww days of your expected menstruation.
