Is it common to get a negative pregnancy test at 11 days past ovulation?

by admin July 3rd, 2009. Filed under: pregnancy test.

I decided to take a pregnancy test today, 11 days past ovulation, but it was negative. I’ve been having a few symptoms but it could be just normal stuff. Is 11 days past ovulation too soon to do a pregnancy test?

I keep reading that implantation takes place between 6 and 12 days past ovulation. If this is the case, will I not get a positive pregnancy test until after implantation takes place?

yes it is very common to get a (-) result after 11 days after ovulation. Yes, you will not get a (+) result if the egg is not yet implanted in your uterus. i suggest, you take a pregnancy test after a feww days of your expected menstruation.

11 days is still pretty early. Wait a week and take another test if you don’t get your period.

You can get a positive after implantation but it depends on the woman and the test. Your best bet is to wait another 3 days and test again if your period doesn’t come. Waiting until at least the date your period was dude is the most ideal time to test because even those tests that tout early results are barely 50% accurate 4 days before your period is due.
