Can i use the calender method of contraception in conjuntion with the contraceptive pill?

by admin September 2nd, 2009. Filed under: pregnancy calender.

I’m currently using the combined pill but my boyfriend is still worried about pregnancy.

We don’t want to use condoms all the time and are looking for another method that we can use in conjunction with the pill.

I quite like the idea of the calender method as a back up to identify which days i’m fertile on so we can use condoms on these days.

Would the calender method work for us?

I know usually a calender would tell u which days you ovulate on and with the pill you don’t ovualte but would it still give an indication of the days i would be likely to ovulate on should the pill fail to work.

It’s a good backup. It sounds more like a mental block to me. If that is what will make you feel better, it’s a good idea. What about spermicide? It’s inexpensive and you can get it at any pharmacy. And it’s not as bothersome as a condom.

You do not ovulate when you are on the pill, so it wouldn’t work. The pill stops you from ovulating.

Sure, it would still work. You might also look into the sperimcidal film. It’s very easy to use, not messy, and convenient. It’s a small piece of film that is folded up and inserted and used as a spermicide. I used it in the past and felt very comfortable with it, except my partner complained that it burned him a little.

Provided it’s held firmly between the girls knees

You don’t HAVE fertile days when you are on the pill!! It stops you ovulating. So you won’t be able to monitor signs in your body.
The pill is extremely reliable. You don’t need to use another method of contraception.
