Is Teen Pregnancy a Genetic Trait? - Christopher Dye

Monday, July 6th, 2009

Complete video at: http://fora.tv/2009/03/26/Professor_Christopher_Dye_Are_Humans_Still_Evolving

Professor Christopher Dye explains the role genetics may play in teenage pregnancy. He sums up an identical twin study which revealed “a strong underlying genetic basis to teenage pregnancy.”

—–

Homo sapiens have been around for 250,000 years - surely long enough to have become fully evolved?

It was thought that the dramatic extension of life spans during the 20th century eliminated natural selection, but new evidence shows that to be false.

Will selection always be natural, or could postmodern also mean posthuman? - Gresham College

Professor Christopher Dye is based at the World Health Organization, where he evaluates epidemiological and economic trends for tuberculosis, malaria, and other infectious diseases, measures the impact of control programs, and presents the findings to governments, scientists, and the media. Professor Dye holds a BA from the University of York and a DPhil from the University of Oxford and has taught at Cambridge University, Imperial College and the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. He was elected a fellow of the Academy of Medical Sciences in 2008. His work in epidemiology is described in more than 200 scientific papers, and he is currently a member of the editorial board of science.

Home pregnancy test kit,

Monday, June 22nd, 2009

Wet and Wait, I say wet and wait as it is as easy as that but here we will show you how we did our at home pregnancy home test kit, we both have never done a test before and so had no idea of what to do, people talk or you hear things but when you are faced with having a baby all common sense goes out the door,
1,wee in a clean glass and have it ready,
2,Remove the kit from the packet and use quickly,
3,drop 3 small drops in the urine well “wet and wait”,
4,wait 40ish seconds,
5,two lines means you are pregnant and one line means your not pregnant,
after you have congratulated or cried go to the doctor as soon as posible to be sure.
A pregnancy test kit shows weather or not you are pregnant this is done by finding markers in the blood or urine and the test strip needs one or the other but every one uses urine “wee” the tests are best used between 6 and 12 days after your missed period ask your pharmacy for a test kit that my be best for you but they are all the same and the lowest priced kit on the shelf will work unless you need a stronger test for some reason?
hCG = Human Chorionic Gonadotopin
reviews in 1998showed that a home pregnancy test kit used by a tecnician are as accurate as a professional laboratory test but when used by people at home accuracy fell due to people misunderstanding the instructions as we did which is why we rushed out and bought two more home test kits to be sure the second was used at the end of the evening and the third in the following morning,
some brand names of home pregnancy test kits I found were SureClear, AccuClear, ClearBlue, Boots own brand, FactPlus
